Upper Arlington

Civic pride shines bright in tree-filled Upper Arlington, locally known as “UA.” The city of 36,000 on the northwest side of Columbus spans 9.8 square miles and was designed by landscape architect William Pitkin in the early 20th century executing the popular Garden City plan, curving streets with the natural contours of the land and trees and avoiding a grid layout. As a result, the Old Arlington neighborhood in the southern part of the city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Generous setbacks and open green spaces contribute to the beauty of the city. Residents have easy access to multiple shopping areas filled with local merchants and restaurants for both casual and fine dining, The city’s annual Fourth of July parade draws thousands to the streets to celebrate and its close proximity to The Ohio State University main campus makes it a Buckeyes stronghold.
